Marrakech Menara is ideally located with easy air and rail access. It has one of the beautiful worldwide airport operated by the Moroccan Airports Authority and with a capacity of 9 million passengers. Direct flights connect Marrakech with cities throughout Europe, and from there to the world. They are available from many European cities as London, Manchester, Paris, Madrid, Brussels, Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich, Geneva, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo as well as many cities in the US. Marrakech-Washington D.C. non-stop route would be an option for an American to come directly to Marrakech. The following airlines serve Menara Airport: Air France, British Airways, Qatar Airways, EasyJet, Iberia, SAS, Lufthansa, Brussel Airlines, Ryanair, Swiss Airlines.
Transfers from the airport to the medina are best arranged through your hotel or riad for 15 to 20 euros. Participants could take a taxi ride from the airport that will cost about 10 euros.
Alternatively, participants could also take public transportation (Bus 11) which runs every 20-30 minutes to the central square of Djemaa El-Fna in the old city. This option is only advisable if you know your way around.
Furthermore, Marrakech is linked by several trains running daily to other major cities in Morocco such as Casablanca, Tangiers, Fez, Meknes and Rabat. A modern high-speed rail system (TGV) is in operation since October 2018 between Casablanca & Tangiers.
